Rovaniemi Congresses was established in 2003 as a
part of Rovaniemi Tourism & Marketing Ltd. We have
around 150 partners in the travel sector in Rovaniemi
and display, package and market their services. In addi-
tion to our solid knowhow we offer the best venues and
services to our domestic and international clients. With
an office in Rovaniemi, Arctic Circle, and we operate with
flexibility throughout the entire Province of Lapland.

Located on the junction of two great rivers and on the
Arctic Circle lies Rovaniemi, a modern arctic town with
an intensive history. Thanks to its strategic location,
Rovaniemi has been a meeting place for centuries. The
market culture developed Rovaniemi into a permanent
dwelling and township. Then came the forestry and the
lumberjacks, the forest industry had a firm position in
Rovaniemi in the early 1900’s. In the early 1950’s
Rovaniemi was rebuilt after the Second World War
with a fierce attitude and eager motivation to

Hall and Lappia Hall. Rovaniemi has develo-
ped into a modern town with a university and
polytechnics, with some industry but a clear
focus on service sectors. Rovaniemi became
the capital of Finnish Lapland in 1960. The

Finnish Lapland, is the hometown of Santa Claus who
can be met every day of the year at the Santa Claus Offi-
ce on the Arctic Circle.
